New sneakers, lunch kits with the latest movie icon plastered across the covers – children enjoy sporting their new styles back at school.  However, there are educational styles that will not fade throughout the school year and will render the school year a huge success when used by parents at home.  These styles are referred to by educators as learning styles. read more>>


                               Meet Dr. Melanie Johnson

                                    

Dr. Johnson is an education specialist who works extensively with educating and
edifying children and youth from pre-kindergarten through college.  She also has
educated and tutored learners with special needs.
 Dr. Johnson has published numerous articles on early childhood education      
as well as secondary and post secondary learner issues.  She currently serves
As an administrator of a greater Houston area college. She is a board of director
member for a Houston area charter school district. The primary research
interests of Dr. Johnson are teaching and learning by experience, techniques
for connecting alienated youth to school environments, and curricular
development of remedial learners and learners with disabilities.

 As a wife and mother of two school-aged children, Dr. Johnson enjoys
disclosing truths regarding widely held myths about the educational system.
She is also passionate about informing parents of academic expectations
and practices as well as ways to advocate for equity in education for all
learners.
