Go, girl!
Angela Byers
Introducing one
creative mom, wife, graphic designer and Angela, originally from San Angelo, TX, now lives in Tulsa, OK, with her family. She attended Oral Roberts University, completed her graphic design undergraduate degree, and has a thriving career ever since. She has added mother of two and wife of thirteen years to her resume. “Even though I have lived in Tulsa for 20 years, I will always be a Texas girl at heart,” Angela said. She frequently visits her family, including her mom, stepdad, dad, stepmom, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and more, who still live in Texas, as much as possible and tries to fulfill that “Texas itch” she gets when away too long To take care of her immediate family’s needs and finding work/life balance back home, Angela’s designed her work life around those things she holds dear – faith in God, commitment to family and top-notch customer service to her clientele. After working for a Fortune 500 energy firm for more than 10 years, Angela decided five years ago to do her own thing. And she truly has found the formula for mixing business and pleasure. She runs a successful graphic design studio, Angela Byers Design, from out of her home. She still finds time to volunteer at her daughter’s elementary school in the art class, volunteer in the children’s ministry at her church, and find quiet time to pray and reflect on what’s important in life, either alone, or with her husband and children. Plus she has a little fun here and there, too, as working out at the YMCA to keep mentally and physically fit, eating dinner with her girl friends and couple friends, and playing with her children are considered gifts from God she doesn’t have time to take for granted. For Angela and her family, God is first in their lives, and they make sure prayer and thanksgiving are always a priority and way of life, and something that needs to be nourished and cared for on a daily basis. When she has time to surf the net, she also is a fan of the HoustonMom.com web site, and decided to enter the logo contest held earlier this year after hearing about it from friends living in Houston. “It's great to find a website designed by women for women,” Angela said. “Only a woman can understand the complex issues we face everyday, and it's great to know we are not alone in our struggles,” she said. “This website is a wonderful place to find women who care, a forum to share our stories, and the venue to find hope and solutions for our lives,” she said. When it comes to her business and helping her clients with their graphic design needs, she truly completes the picture, so to speak. “I am committed to delivering creative, effective solutions for my clients,” she said. “Even though, at times, it means working after hours and burning the midnight oil because I have family obligations that take up the daytime hours, I truly am committed to delivering personalized service for each of my clients on every project,” she said. “This keeps me busy, sometimes much challenged to keep it all together, but through the grace of God, a supportive husband and children, it’s working for our family.”
HoustonMom.com again thanks Angela for her beautiful logo design. We are truly grateful to have talent come to us in so many ways, and appreciate Angela for capturing what the web site is all about. Women helping women with balancing motherhood responsibilities and roles we play daily…one step at a time.
